i have 16gb ddr5 and 36gb ddr4 in a different laptop it only has a slot for ddr5 ---

Ah, I worked out your meaning. You have a FW 12 with 16GB and would like to add more RAM to it. Sadly, DDR4 will not work here. Moreover, since you have just one memory slot in the FW 12, you will need to buy a 32 GB stick of DDR5. The 16 GB stick will become spare, but at today’s RAM prices, it may be worth selling (if only to offset the costs of the new stick). ---

do u think e-waste place sell ram if they find it or just dont care (i was born yesterday and i came from stupid town and this is my first rodeo) ---

Maybe; it will be second-user though, with all the failure risks that entails. I see eBay UK has sticks of 32GB at £229 (267€). ---

Here’s a crazy idea - look at this post in the Framework community market - [[US-CA] Framework Laptop 12 - i5-1334U - 48GB RAM - 2TB TLC SSD | $1200 USD - #3 by Richard\_Spencer](https://community.frame.work/t/us-ca-framework-laptop-12-i5-1334u-48gb-ram-2tb-tlc-ssd-1200-usd/84933/3) Someone wants to sell a FW12 with 48GB of ram and someone else wants to buy it without the ram. Maybe you two could split it. I’m hankering for more ram in my FW12 (I have 16) but really can’t justify it. ---
