I’m being asked to update the fingerprint sensor firmware from 01000334 to 1000334 (remove leading zero)

I’m using GNOME Software and Fwupd to update my firmware. I’m being prompted with this:

Device Firmware Fingerprint Sensor Upgrade Device Update 01000334 → 1000334 Device cannot be used during update. Update

When I click “Update” I’m refused with an error message

Specified firmware is already installed ‘01000334’

This makes sense, as the new firmware version is the same number as the old firmware version, just with a leading zero removed.

Is this firmware controlled by Framework? I assume this is an error by the vendor or the LVFS.

PS: I happen to be on NixOS, but I don’t think this is likely to be relevant.

Same thing on Debian, not related to NixOS.

I am having the same issue on a fresh fedora install
