Context:
I was playing Helldivers II. Screen went black. No response from the desktop itself. It wouldn’t turn on. I thought it was a bad PSU, but I contacted support and they said I needed a new mainboard. I went through the process and they sent me the $1600 part for free. Now, my desktop works as before. Support was helpful and I’m very grateful to FW for helping me out.
Why I’m writing this:
I’m a little concerned about the longevity of this thing. Do you guys think I just got a bad board? I mean it seemed to work great for the first several months. Same behavior as my new board. My biggest worry goes to the period where it goes out of warranty. I can’t afford to basically replace the whole computer.
Are you able to share what steps support asks you to do to determine it was MB failure and not the PSU?
I know they were right because it works now. No psu replacement required. Took me about 20 minutes to swap in the new board. They asked for a ton of pictures. All angles of the motherboard and a few questions about changes I made and if there was liquid damage etc. They also asked for a video of the error lights shown on the motherboard. I think that’s what ultimately told them I needed a new one.
That’s good to know.
Are you willing to share a short the video or description of the blinking lights?
It could help others pre-diagnose if they have a similar problem.

I can’t figure out a video of the motherboard code, but I’m pretty sure this is the flash order:
