Does anyone know if the new Input cover - Gen 2- for FW12 supports NKeyrollover ? in their presentation they mentioned ZMK and a new controller..

Since the new controller can be added to existing keyboards the new ones very likely use the same matrix and have the same limitations. Zmk may be able to do slightly smarter anti ghosting but with a diodeless matrix you just can’t do nkro.

Indeed, I initially also hoped they fixed it but when they showed that you can drop the new controller board in the old keyboard that hope was dashed.
I don’t even own a 12 and I still feel bad for that matrix XD.

I have a pre-order and I’m quite excited for it. I type quite a bit, so I’m a little curious about the improvement, if any. I had the first generation of FW12, and except for my fingers tripping over each other, I thought it was perfect. Maybe zmk will allow a small buffer?
Zmk will allow for quite a lot of things but it can’t really do much about the underlying matrix. If you aren’t using any key combinations it isn’t capable of you should be fine.
I’m sorry, I don’t understand. My issue was keypresses not being recognized while typing. I have a few laptops, and the FW12 was the only one that exhibited this behavior. I’m hoping it’s better. Maybe that is silly.
If that was keypresses at the same time then it might be the matrix, if it was separate presses then zmk may help.
The matrix of the fw12 keyboard is especially unfortunate with what keys can be pressed at the same time, even the fw13 has a much better one.
Then really what it comes down to is timing. The keys are not being pressed at the same time, other keyboards recognize it as such. Then I assume: With no change in the matrix, and ZMK not changing the underlying problem, then the result will be the same.
Other keyboards do have different matrixes,too though but if the key presses are indeed distinct zmk could help.
If the underlying problem is timing zmk may very well resolve it.
October will be the tell. I found a stick of RAM and already have a 2230 1TB drive for it.
