Noticed this slight gap, is that to normal for a Framework 12?
If you are talking about that slight gap along the front edge where the input cover meets up with the black edge, that gap is normal, for better or worse, lol. I have two Framework 12s and they both have that same gap.
yep, I see it on mine and it appears to be “normal”
The gap on mine is nowhere near this big, got pretty good fit, actually.
Mine is similar and it is my least favorite part of owning the FW12.
If someone is more knowledgeable about the internal parts and how magnets may or may not negatively impact the components I have a question for potentially “fixing” the gap:
Would it be possible to superglue a very small/thin magnet(s) to the internal side of the input cover to create a snug fix to the rubber edge? Think of it as adding another magnetic feature that already exists when placing the keyboard/input cover towards the screen hinges before securing the captive screws. In fact, if Framework were to create an updated keyboard/input cover with end to end magnetic secured attachment I would order one in a heartbeat and keep my current keyboard as a backup part.
Unfortunately I am very serious when I say this is my biggest gripe with the FW12 and it is the source of my slight buyers regret, apart from the misaligned trackpad which I will attempt to fix on my own - wish me luck!
Just to add a data point, my fw12 doesn’t have a gap like this where I can see inside.
