Is the 60W Framework Power Adapter silent or does it make any noise?

I’m eyeing a few GaN USB-C chargers in the 60W range. One important factor is whether they’re silent or if they make any noise. Is the 60W Framework Power Adapter dead silent or does it make any noise (however small it might be)?

The 60W Framework power supply isn’t completely silent, but you do have to basically put your ear right up to it in order to hear the sound it makes. It’s a humming sound that the majority of Laptop power supplies will make. I’d say, when my Framework is charging at near 60W, I might be able to hear the power supply from an inch away if I really listen for the sound it makes, and that being in a completely silent room which in most cases, I’m not. When it’s not charging the Framework and there is no power output, there might be a very slight high pitched whine, but you’d have to put your ear right up against the power supply to hear it.

The 180W version has power factor correction (PFC), which suppresses most of the audible harmonics.

Does it stay silent even at lower wattages when your computer is idling? It seems that the power factor correction only turns on at higher wattages:
