Keeping machine horizontal (on its side)

Do anyone run their machine on its side, (horizontal, landscape mode) - laying it down on the non perforated, non-air-intaking side, that is. I was thinking it might be OK if I were to slap a couple of rubber ‘feet’ in each corner for just that little bit of air flow under it; have anyone tried it, any downsides to running this (or any) desktop on its side in general?

Weirdly never a thought I’ve had before for my previous machines; but with the desktop as small as it is, I feel like I’m more likely to accidentally be clumsy and knock it over when it’s standing upright on my desk, or pulling the power cord or [..]

I have mine in a cabinet on its side. I also had the same idea about rubber feet, more to keep it from getting scratched than air flow though. CPU runs around 48C when idle. Well, it is never really 100% idle since I use it for virtualization, but still.

It has been that way for a couple of months and no ill effects so far.
