Could there be a way to turn on backlight automatically during nighttime hours? Or if on battery and during daylight hours, you could schedule to turn the backlight off to save battery.

There’s an ambient light sensor
It’s used to allow for automatic screen brightness but I would think it’s doable to control keyboard backlight brightness too.
