First off, I love that the Framework 12 uses a pogopin connector on the keyboard+trackpad part. That potentially makes creating an alternative keyboards extremely easy (i.e. with only a few contacts exposed on the bottom of the PCB).
Anyway, instead of shoehorning a ThinkPad keyboard into a Framework 12, I’m trying to gauge how viable it would be to create a custom keyboard. Notably, I’d love to know how much physical clearance we have from the mated pogopins to the screen when the device is closed?
Just trying to figure out what my options are for switches, keycaps, and joysticks (TRACKPOINT) directly on a PCB.
Thanks!
