I feel like this has been asked before but I just can’t find the post.
Has anyone found a mechanical keyboard that feels similar to the framework keyboards? I am on a FW12 and every time I dock my laptop and use my mechanical keyboard I kind of struggle because it feels different.
The biggest annoyance is probably the function keys, but even typing just throws me off a bit.
Does anyone have any recommendations (doesn’t have to be mechanical)?

Most “MC mechanical” or even $10 Dell office membranes have deep travels. Laptop’s scissor switches are sub 2mm, usually.
While not mechanical I suppose the upcoming framework wireless keyboard will exactly match the fw12 keyboard since it uses the same underlying keyboard.

If it needs to be a mechanical keyboard you may want to look at some low profile options. Low profile switches have a much lower travel. I use one for work, and have tried both the Nuphy Air V3 (Coworker has this) and the Iqunix Magi 75. There are some other options out there to, and I can make a case for any of them.
I’ll say that unlike standard MCs, low profile keyboards have far less switch options, and key cap options. Switch compatibility is also limited. Meaning you can’t just use Kailh switches and Gateron switches. It’s either or. I recommend choosing a board that supports switches you like over anything else.
Wired or wireless?
I like the “Signature Slim” series from Logitech. It feels close to the Framework 12 keyboard. If you want wireless, the K950. For wired, the K620. They are full size with number pads.
If you want rechargeable and backlighting, the MX Keys S has a very similar feel, though the keys are more dished than on Framework keyboards, which you may or may not prefer. The Signature slim keys have only VERY slightly convex keys. Closer to the Framework keys. They are slightly textured though.
FYI, none of them are mechanical. But I’m not sure you can get a feel like on a Framework keyboard from a mechanical board. I suppose it’s possible, but I haven’t seen it.

When searching for that Logitech one, I also had the Keychron B6 Pro pop up that seems very similar.
Does anyone here have any experience with that?
I prefer wired since it lives at my desk anyways, and then I don’t have to worry about charging it.
No experience with that Keychron. I have used one of their low profile mechanical boards and like it quite a bit. It is much lower profile and lower travel keys than a typical mechanical keyboard, but not really much like a laptop keyboard. The B6 is supposedly quite similar to the MX Keys.
The K620 is wired. I got one online for around $28 a couple months ago.
Well that got me down a rabbit hole. I didn’t know there were low profile mechanical keyboards…
I think I need to go to a store and try out a bunch of keyboards to see what I like.
I ended up getting a lightly used one year old Lofree Flow 100 low-profile for 45€ and am quite happy with it.
