Laptop bricked after Windows update

During last windows update, unit became almost totally unresponsive. No screen, no keyboard, just the power button. Lights up for about 15 seconds then off for two seconds then repeats. Fans eventually run at the same time after warm up.

Can turn off completely by holding power button for long enough

No ability to do a safe mode start up. Nothing

Maybe something got messed up.
Remove the psu and all slot cards.
Leave power off for 60 seconds. Then try power on again leaving everything unplugged.

No change. Power button and fans still cycling, and red LEDs flashing on each side

Yeah, this happened to me on the 16. Connect a Windows Recovery Media through USB and boot into it, in there you have the option to go back to a restore point… if you don’t have a restore point you are probably stuck with reinstalling Windows

Yes, figured as much so guess I’ll have to get hold of a usb recovery start up. Never needed one in many years of reliable brand name laptops so of course I haven’t got one now.

Thanks

Have barely used the laptop since I got it so no great loss of data anyway.

Windows updates have been wreaking havoc lately. Audio issues, bluetooth issues, boot issues, etc. Not sure why updates have been such a poo-show lately.

Hopefully you can get your system restored and didn’t lose too much. Can you even get to the BIOS?

At the moment only sign of life is power button light starts cycling long on, short off with fan doing the same. No keyboard or screen.
Tried the usual safe mode starts bu nothingt

That sounds more like hardware failure, but it’s tough to say. I hope you get something figured out. It might be worth starting a support ticket with Framework.
