I have two HP V28 4K monitors. I have used this setup for a year without issue on a Windows HP laptop. Recently, I switched to a Framework laptop, and it will intermittently fail to recognize one of the monitors connected through a USB docker. The docker works fine, as the other peripherals I have hooked through it (keyboard and mouse) work fine.

But every few days, the laptop will fail to recognize the monitor linked through the docker. I then spend a lot of time messing around with swapping ports around the Framework, which usually solves this issue.

Does anyone know why this is? Why do I have to reconfigure my ports every few days?

is your dock station a thunderbolt certified? if so i read that using thunderbolt dock station comes with limitations due to USB 4 port is not thunderbolt certified and does not really have thunderbolt support. It does support display out maybe on it and 40Gbps but that doesn’t make it “Go ahead use thunderbolt dock”. Using one will mostlikely give you issues, try using a non thunderbolt dock and see if issue remains.
