Lost power in left side USB-C ports after water damage

Hey! I have a Framework 16 Ryzen 7 7840HS model, and this afternoon I got in a pretty big storm and somehow the water made it through my backpack and inside my laptop (i really don’t know how). I believe it sat for around 2 hours in my backpack, and when I took it out I didn’t really notice at first, but I believe it did shut itself off and I unfortunately plugged it into the left side before realizing why. After taking everything fully apart and drying it off, I noticed some oxidation by the PQ403 MOSFET on the back right side of the mainboard (not actually on it, but by the 2R2 resistor and capacitor to its upper left) which I cleaned up, as well as some other spots that I couldn’t tell whether or not they were oxidized.

The laptop can now boot and the right side USB-C ports work properly, but I seem to have lost all functionality in the left side USB-C ports. I’m guessing this isn’t really something I can easily fix without buying a new mainboard, but maybe one of you will surprise me. I haven’t tried an EC reset yet but if we think that should be the next step then I can give it a shot. I also didn’t notice any errors within fw-ectool.

Also, if there’s anything else you think I should look out for after this incident, let me know. Thanks in advance!

Edit: I rechecked ectool this morning and saw this warning, I may still try an EC reset but it feels like something worse to me:
[73.130500 TYPE_C_ERROR_RECOVERY]

If the laptop works fine, apart from the left usb, then a mainboard repair shop might be able to fix it.
At least it demonstates that the extent of the water damage is limited.
The problem normally becomes a cost trade off. Repair work labour cost vs cost of new mainboard.
Repair shops often have old ‘donor’ mainboards that they harvest spair parts from. But i doubt there are enough donor boards out there at repair shops to make that an option.

That might be something FW could pick up on. Of all the broken mainboards they get back, offer to send them out to people so they have ‘donor’ boards.

Mmm yeah I think that’s what it’s gonna come to. I tried an EC reset and didn’t have any luck. Hopefully I can find a reputable repair shop in central-ish Virginia that would have at least a vague idea of what it might cost them without me having to pay a super high diagnostic fee. If I do find somewhere I’ll update this post so that others might benefit as well
