I like this idea. A quick search leads me to think it could be done with Plymouth, but there’s a lot more documentation on how to install a theme than there is on creating one. This random repo of plymouth themes leads me to believe it can be done from a set of PNG frames
You guys have long enough boot times to need a splash screen?
