Lmao I suppose that works. guess that is for the ones having to solder the wires there.
The meaning of red and blue is pretty clean, white and green are definitely the data pins but which ones is positive and which is negative is not done consistently (theoretically white is data- and green is data+ but in practice it is kinda random) but also not destructive if you get them wrong it just won’t work.
Maybe with a little case modification, you could access one of the bottom USB module slots to connect to USB there and tun a thin wire. We’re only going for a proof of concept here, anyway.
I don’t think you’ll be able to get it to connect to the USB. Although the numpad slot may connect via USB, maybe you could hook it up there under an existing keyboard module?
Does anyone know if the keyboard connections are each their own “port” we might be able to use, or if they are just one “port” that happens to have multiple contacts?

Yeah, I think it could work, but I think it’s almost impossible to fit both the drawing tablet and the original trackpad module inside the laptop. There just isn’t enough space.
Oh, yeah, for sure. This would require a more extensive mod than what you are doing. Making a brand new trackpad module of a different size is a bit much. If I were to set this up on my own machine, I’d probably try to move the trackpad over to make room, but you are more working on a proof of concept than a permanent setup as far as I can tell.
the problem is the space, to fit the tablet and the pad u will need to remove almost all the plastic rails and lock to fit, or get a tiny touch pad like 30x40mm, i dont have the knowledge to make a huge mod like this. 17829386341478650656350007265990|375x500
Yeah, that can be someone else’s project. Make a minimal trackpad module with giant “spacers” that can be replaced later with larger modules. Then it would be this discussion’s project to build the mini-drawing tablet in to the giant spacer’s slot.
I had to trim part of the laptop’s chassis with a Dremel to make room for the tablet.
Now I just need to figure out how to make the flex PCB for the pinout connector and design a cover.
The post I linked earlier has a ribbon cable or flexible PCB for connecting one of the USB ports under the keyboard to a physical USB port. You could probably use it or something similar, but I don’t know how they got the ribbon cable/flexible PCB.

Could you send more photos of what you’ve got going on here? I’m getting a FW16 soon and do quite a bit of art, having a tablet inbuilt sounds awesome and I’d like to experiment with the idea when I get my own
