Minor keyboard issues?

Hi everyone, just wanted to ask if anyone else had these issues:

-Backlight on the caps lock key no longer works

-Keyboard sometimes doesn’t recognize an input (my job is mostly typing/data entry, I’d say the bottom-left keys are the most likely to fail to register a key input; happens a few times per day). It’s not a huge issue, but none of my previous laptops have had issues registering button presses.

-Bottom-left of they keyboard is cracked at the corner (that’s probably my fault, though honestly I expected more durability from a laptop marketed at students/commuters)

Unrelated, but I’ve also got the well-known cracking issue on the bottom; didn’t think to check until I noticed the crack on the keyboard cover, so I’m not sure how long that has been an issue.

I’m mostly posting to see how widespread the keyboard issues are, I don’t have the time or budget to fix this as it’s my main work laptop.

(This is my first FW; I’m not terribly tech-savvy, unlike most of the users here, and I got it for grad school since the gaming laptop I had previously was 1) too heavy and 2) not being used for much gaming, lol. My friend recommended FW because of the company mission, and because I could choose my parts/swap out the ports, which is pretty handy. I just need this laptop to be a reliable word processor, and it’s not bad for that, but not having a working caps lock keylight and having typos due to key inputs not registering is not ideal.)

I came here because the light on my caps lock key isn’t working.

I don’t recall the keyboard not working, but my trackpad sometimes doesn’t respond the way it should (the cursor doesn’t move around the screen the way it normally does, and I can’t highlight text in google docs so I can copy and paste). Honestly, I tried making sure everything was updated, and I restarted my computer, and nothing really worked to fix it. I just put my computer down and the next day it was fine.

Looking through the forum, I realized that I also have the small cracks on the bottom of my computer.

The caps lock thing is annoying, but mostly unnoticeable. The track pad issue is more concerning to me, even though it has stopped because I don’t know what actually fixed it.

I’m starting to have keyboard issues. Some keys don’t work on the keyboard despite working fine. It’s quite annoying for me though, since the keys that don’t work happen to be the keys that I need for my password…

Have you tried reseating the input cover?
