Multiple Issues with FW13 AMD

Hi framework guys,

I am experiencing some unpleasant issues with the device. Some of them are described on this forum, some of them not. Allow me to share my last experience with FW13 AMD.

My device, SN: FRANDGCPA74162001N, system version: A7, BIOS: 3.17, running Gentoo Linux with KDE. I have recently bought a brand new Samsung EVO 990 2T to rule out the problems due to my slightly older KC3000 2T. (Note: I have checked the firmware version of the EVO 990 2T, and I’m using the 2B2QKXG7, which is the last one.)

  1. The most annoying issue is the computer reset after waking up from sleep. This was happening on the old BIOS as well as the new one. There are several threads describing this issue. This is happening with connecting dock station or standalone.
  2. Computer won’t boot at all due to mount issue. Or it boots but creates a default profile because it can’t read the home partition. In both cases the solution is always to take out the disk (sometimes I read and check it in an NVMe/USBC adapter in a different laptop, sometimes not) and put it back again, and the computer boots normally as it should.
  3. The weirdest issue is massive lag in GUI when starting up or when connecting a Bluetooth speaker. Booting lag is ~30 seconds, then everything works.

In the past I did try 3 different DRAM modules (2x32G Kingston, 2x16G Samsung, 2x48G Crucial), but none of them seem to make any difference.

I know the last 2 issues seem to be related to a disk. But whenever I attach it to a different computer, it works completely normally. It is FW13 that has issues with it. I plan to transfer my system (or reinstall it) to yet another disk to test this out. But frankly, I have already spent too much time debugging this device. Please don’t get me wrong, I still love it, because when it works, then it is a lovely piece of equipment, but I simply cannot afford to spend so much time debugging it. I have already ordered a new Ryzen board (370) for the FW13, but after my experiences with 7040, I start to be skeptical.

RN, I need some real solution to get rid of all of these issues or this laptop. Any help?
