October/Batch 4 Thread

I get excited everytime I get an email… only to find it’s something else I’ve ordered and don’t give 2 sh*ts about…

Spending money on my CC and nothing from FrameWork… At this pace I’m going to max out the CC and won’t get the laptop because no more money in the CC :stuck_out_tongue:

Today was a 49" Samsung Odyssey Neo G9… I have issues…
This is me these days taunting FW…

Ordered mine on Sept. 23rd (DIY):

  • CPU i7-1165G7
  • Wi-Fi 6E AX210 no vPro
  • 1 TB SN750 NVMe
  • 2x8 GB RAM
  • 2xUSB-A cards
  • 2xUSB-C cards
  • 1xHDMI card
  • 1xMicroSD card
  • Power brick

I debated grabbing a DisplayPort card while I was at it, but didn’t think I’d need it. I’ve been using Linux as my daily Desktop driver for a few years now, and Arch for about a year of that, but this will be my first Linux laptop. Hoping I won’t have too many issues getting sleep mode and battery life settings worked out.

Just got mine this afternoon, 2 days later than FedEx initially showed. It wasn’t an issue and I’m not surprised it didn’t go from NJ to FL in just 2 days of shipping. So far so good w/ Manjaro Linux, although AV1 hardware decoding seems to be borked at the moment (at least w/ mpv). Build quality seems pretty solid! I hope all my fellow batch 4s who are still waiting get theirs soon!

was given a tracking number yesterday. I looked at it right away at Fedex and it said would be by end of day wed oct 13.
I just looked today, tuesday and got a timeline showing shipping exception! Barcode unreadable.

The timeline, I believe showed dots ending with oct. 13 yesterday.
Now it shows on the third dot an exclaimation point, and nothing on the last dot.

I tried to sign up for email status and just got this: The system has experienced an unexpected problem and is unable to complete your request. Please try again later.
without being able to sign in, I see travel history. 2:53 AM KEASBEY, NJ Shipment exception Barcode label unreadable and replaced.

A delay?

Ordered mine on Oct 6th. Still only confirmation of pre-order email, no others. It is part of the Oct. shipping batch so my guess is probably early November arrival more than likely. That is also dependent on if there are delays in component availability and shipping woes, the latter being the “thorn in your side” for most people it seems.

Configuration
CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-1185G7
WiFi: Intel® Wi-Fi 6E AX210 vPro®
Storage: 2TB - WD_BLACK™ SN750 NVMe™
Memory: 64GB (2 x 32GB) DDR4-3200

Expansion Cards
1 MicroSD
1 DP
2 USB-C
1 HDMI
2 USB-A
1 Storage – 1TB

Nothing yet. With a combination of anecdotal calendar math and wishful thinking, I’m hopeful for an update today.

My Framework laptop is on the truck out for delivery. It feels like Christmas. LOL

I wish mine was. It moved into town shortly past 8 this morning but has not been put on a truck yet…

Usually when I see an arrival into town past 5-6 AM it won’t make it onto the truck that day.

Positive thinking mate… Positive thinking … It will get there today… You’ll see!

Wow and just like that! It’s going to ship soon. I got confirmation of my CC charge before the email. And here I was thinking probably like November for arrival. Not saying that FedEx can’t still make that happen :person_facepalming:

I was going to be skeptical - last activity was “international shipment release - import” which they already did, but hey, suddenly 12:51, my city, “on vehicle for delivery”!

So whatever you did, thanks!
