Operating temps - HWiNFO

I’ve noticed during normal operations HWiFO records high max temps during each session. My normal operations are productivity suite activities with nothing too stressful. Indexing is the most impactful task that I’ve noticed

I’m running Windows 11 26200.7171

What are your normal operating temps, folks? Are they also in the upper 90s or generally lower?

The highest I’ve hit to date was playing Baldur’s Gate 3 at 3440x1440 on ultra for a few hours was 55deg, if that is anything to go by. At idle / just went browsing it’s essentially ambient temps at 44/45. Arch Linux, Noctua fan, official framework case.

Mine usually idles at around 40-30. I am seeing 90+ on yours, so something is def messed up.

Yeah

I shutdown for a few minutes and then booted into Windows. It hit 97.8 C just booting up.

Here are my system temperatures right after boot. You most likely have a problem with the heatsink/CPU contact, as some have already mentioned.

Thanks for that @DE_SOUSA_Daniel Very helpful

I’ve opened a support request …

I just tried some games and didn’t even get close to 90 yet. Something doesn’t seem right on your side.

Can you check, maybe your heatsink is mounted like mine? FW Desktop heatsink not mounted properly?

I see many people report lower idling temps.

I would guess that or theres a foil between the heatsink and the cpu. My unit had that problem(resolved by support), if the system immediately goes to ~100 *C under load its probably that

How did support resolve it?

I disassembled the heatsink to find the problem and send a photo. They sent me a replacement PTM kit that I could re-apply.

That’s great. And what was the issue? Can you share the pic?

There was foil on the heatsink

I should mention, only take it apart if youre sure this is the issue. It will need a repaste, and behaviour with foil on is very characteristic(the tiny amount of contact PTM had as seen above resulted in 40w max power and instant 100*C when getting to that)
