Which OS (Operating System)? Windows 11

Which Framework product (Laptop 13) AMD 7040 Series

I’ve been having this issue with my laptop for about a year or so. Most of the time, the p,-,and 0 buttons just don’t function at all. The only ways to get it to work again are to either press one of the keys really hard (this fixes all of them for some reason) or to just hit the lottery.
I’ve also noticed that they’ve been showing weirder behavior. Pressing p+0+9 when the keys don’t work toggles airplane mode. Pressing p+0+1 turns down sound. I tried removing the whole keyboard and reinstalling it to no avail.

I had this exact failure mode. Exactly those keys, including interacting with the airplane key.

Replacing the input cover fixed it (not surprising). Maybe you can find a more elegant solution.

> Quick thank you for issuing mystery boxes! I bought one on a whim in Feb 2025. It came with an input cover, which I didn’t need, so I chucked it on a random shelf and forgot about it. I’m using a 2022 12th gen Intel FW 13 (since upgraded to AI 300 and matte display). Yesterday the P key died. It took 20 minutes to find the mystery box keyboard and a minute to swap it in. And, holy cow, it’s fantastic. Works perfect, feels much tighter, fewer duplicate hits. I should have swapped it in months a…
