Port 4 on Sixteen wont charge when laptop is on

Port 1, 2, and 5 on the Sixteen work just fine. Its just the port 4.

And its not expansion cards – I can use the same expansion card on port 1,2, 4, 5. The same cable orientation. Port 4 would do nothing.

Is what I would say if the laptop doesn’t charge at all. It charges from port 4 while the computer is turned off. As soon as it is on, even in BIOS, port 4 become dead.

I was on BIOS 04.02 for a while, and finally decided to upgrade to BIOS 04.03. didnt solve the issue. though whether it fixed the dead port upon waking from sleep or the broken TDP when plugged in remains to be seen.

  • Ubuntu 240403 / Windows 10
  • Framework Sixteen AMD 7040 Series w/ dual m.2 adapter
  • BIOS 04.02 → 04.03

Can confirm this behavior on a dell type-C monitor. U2412HE. port 1 work, and 4 keep resetting.

Seems very intermittent. Sometimes port 4 does work. sometimes it doesnt.
