Hello, I have a Yoga 710 11 and one thing annoying is that the power button gets activated when in a bag because it’s exposed and on the side, waking it up and draining my laptop battery. I use sleep feature quite extensively.
How easily is the power button triggered on the Laptop 12? I’m debating between 12 and 13. I like 13’s power button placement, M.2 2280 and dual channel memory support, plus better keyboard. I like 12’s 2-in-1, touchscreen, the lower cost, but not the power button issue, and I may not like the keyboard.
The keyboard is a bit mushy. Just a little bit less clicky than a regular membrane keyboard. It’s not mushy to the point of being bad but some may dislike it.
I just orient my laptop in my backpack such that the power button is on top and not being touched by anything. I haven’t had it turn on randomly, not once.
So one potential dealbreaker and another, an annoyance.
I just don’t get laptops with mushy keyboards. 0.2mm extra would have been helpful. Just taking a keyboard and having a touch typist feel it for a minute would have been enough to see if it’s good or not.
As a note, it does turn on with the lid closed if the power button is pressed while it’s charging, but yeah that’s not a concern in terms of accidental power-ups while carrying.
The keyboard took a little to get used to for me (I’ve been exclusively using a mechanical keyboard on my desktop for the past decade or so), you kinda have to hit the keys a bit while typing quickly, otherwise you’ll find that you miss a letter every so often, but generally it does feel alright to me.
