If you are asking me, I don’t know. That module is probably as good as any other to connect to the I2C/SMB, but I have no experience with it.
The BQ40Z50 evaluation board manual says it’s compatible with either the EV2300 or EV2400, although the EV2300 isn’t officially supported on Windows 10/11. The EV2400 is also expensive (£211 on Mouser, or £316 on RS) but luckily there’s knock-offs on eBay for £33.
