I’ve experienced this issue 2 out of 3 times while attempting to play “The Alters” via Steam. The game will launch, and usually get to the main screen where it prompts to “Press any Key”. The first time, I was able to get into the game and maybe 5 or 6 minutes into gameplay when the whole system just straight powers off. No hard-freeze, no indication of a failure or fault, just straight to black screen. So much so that the LED indicator from the Power adapter (on the laptop) was even off. The second time (a few days, or even a week later) it ran for hours without issue. Just now, it powered-off just after hitting “Press Any Key” in the main menu.

I was able to remove the power cable, re-insert and power up the laptop back to a working state.

I’ve had this happen 2 times (out of 3 attempts) with this game. I’m not sure what logs to collect to try to help identify the cause.

Has anyone else experienced this? I use this laptop all the time for gaming and have maybe experienced this once before with a different game (I can’t recall, it’s been a while if it did happen).

I’m not sure how to troubleshoot this to try to help get this fixed if it’s a bug, or tweak settings if it’s an issue with my system.
