I was going to pre-order a framework 13 pro after seeing that the pre-built version starts at 1499$, but when I went to the store its cost was equivalent to 3 086 USD (!). That’s more than double the stated price - is this an issue for anyone else living outside of the US? Looking at the order details shipping is free, so that’s not it. What’s going on here?
Yes, even in Italy the pre-built version with AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series starts at around €3,500. Are you sure you didn’t get confused with the price of the DIY Edition? That starts at €1,609, which is much closer to the $1,499 you saw. If you want to save as much as possible, I recommend opting for the DIY version with Intel Core Ultra Series 3, which starts at €1,379.
3086 USD was for ultra series 3, prebuild with AI 300 is 4,486.05 USD in norway
And what are your sales tax and import duties in Norway? Don’t forget that US prices have only about 6% tax. I suspect you are looking at 20% or more sales tax, and maybe as much again in import duty.
