Problem With Adapter (Twice) and Lack of Flexibility on Refund/Credit/Replacement

I’ve been having a hard situation with Framework Support and two malfunctioning adapters.

I bought a 60W adapter from Framework that stopped charging my computer correctly. Because it was within a year, it was covered by the warranty and Framework sent me a new 60W charger in May 2025. I would expect it to work at least a year because the adapter is supposed to work for one year minimum.

However, the second charger broke about 7-8 months later (broke = stopped charging, not breaking apart physically in a visible way). Framework Support confirmed it’s malfunctioning after I sent various pictures and videos.

Framework Support says that replacement products only have a 90-day warranty. I asked for flexibility because the spirit of selling products is that they should last, and the second charger should have lasted at least a year (at minimum! but it should really last for more) even if there is a loophole limiting the warranty to 90 days. But I was told multiple times that the second broken adapter is not eligible for a refund.

I wish that the people at Framework would build some good will by acknowledging that having an adapter AND the replacement adapter both break after less than a year isn’t great.

I also wish Framework would find a way in this case to issue a refund, even a credit (which would encourage continued shopping with Framework), or a replacement (although this isn’t ideal given the track record of the adapter). It would be an exception to the current policy but it would be a relatively small token to adress a problematic situation. Instead, I was recommended to buy the same adapter again.

(edited = clarifying that the adapter was not charging correctly, not that it was physically falling apart in a visible way)

One unit going bad might be a fluke. Two units going bad seems like something else may be the issue and my thinking is it has to do with clean power.

We all expect electronics to last for years but the truth is they almost all only have a 12 month warranty because things are designed with a limited lifespan in modern times.

Understandably being averse to the original framework charger is the case here. Try a quality charger from Anker. They are a well known brand and their products have lasted me a long time. Plus it will be a fair bit less expensive. The laptop can use any PD charger. So even the $20 30W charger will charge it just fine if just getting a charger is all that is desired before spending the bucks on a larger one.
