I’m trying to find information about the color design of the pre-built Framework desktop, but I can’t seem to find a clear answer anywhere.
I wanted to know if the area around the screen is black while the bottom part of the chassis is gray on the pre-built models.
If anyone owns one or has details about the color layout, I’d really appreciate your help. Thanks!

Hi, thanks for the suggestion, but just to clarify: I’m not talking about the Desktop. I have a prebuilt Framework Laptop 16, not the Framework Desktop. So my question is specifically about the Laptop 16, which is why I posted here.
I see. This is probably just a typo in the original message and title then that confused me.
The color around the screen is determined by the bezel that’s chosen the user. It’s a magnetically attached piece of plastic that’s easily replaced in under 5 seconds. The rest of the chassis that’s “grey” is just a silvery/brushed metal look atop the rest of the chassis. This is the same for both prebuilds and DIY.
This is unlike the Framework 12, which has a color throughout the entire shell.
I chose the orange screen bezel instead, so mine looks like this:

Yes, when you configure it yourself (DIY) it’s good because you can choose the bezel color.
But in my case I want to buy the prebuilt Framework Laptop 16, and when I select the prebuilt version I can’t find any option to choose the bezel color. That’s why I’m asking what the default bezel colors are for the prebuilt models.
you can add bezel color as 2nd order by going to web store and look for bezels

unless laptop order + bezel can be ordered together from 1 basket/cart when adding laptop and then bezel.
Just did quick test, you can. First add your Pre-built FM 16 Laptop to the bag and then click shop all or link above here and add a color bezel into bag and click the bag > check out.
The pre-built models all come with the black bezel; there isn’t an option to change that.
If you want the orange or lavender bezel, you’ll just have to buy it extra, I’m afraid.
