Questions regarding non-US keyboards with the silver FW13 Pro Input Cover

Hello everyone.

I’m planning to replace my FW13’s Input Cover to get the new haptic trackpad, thinking I could reuse my keyboard, but after looking more closely, it doesn’t seem to be compatible with the new Input Cover.

Unfortunately, the only silver Input Cover with keyboard available seems to be the US English one, while I would want the Spanish (Spain) keyboard, only available in graphite. There’s the “DIY kit”, but the listed price of the keyboard is the same as buying it separately, which is significantly more expensive than buying the assembled one (45€ instead of 20€, over double the price). Is this price definitive or is there going to be a discount? If not, what’s the point of the kit? And alternatively, are there plans to offer the silver version of the input cover with non-US keyboards?

Also, the main difference I could see between the keyboards is that the cable is in a different position. Is that the only difference? I’ve been evaluating the possibility of making an adapter cable for the old keyboard if possible. Would be nice if Framework sold an official one, but if not, flex PCBs are pretty cheap to have manufactured.

As of today, no official plans to produce other language layouts for the silver pro input cover. Original plan was to only release US English input cover (as it’s the most popular option by far) but we wanted to give opportunity to other language layouts as well and created the DIY kit for people who wouldn’t mind DIYing their way through it. if that’s not a good option for you, you can always opt in for Graphite input Cover or Silver - US English.
