Recommended laptop bags / cases / sleeves?

I got the heroic knight 17 inch bag and it works for the framework 16" with gpu it also allows for another laptop. The charger connect on the bag sometimes is in the way but if you are aware of that it is not a big deal and this a great slim lightweight bag.

You could probably do worse than a Tom Bihn backpack. I’m familiar with an older version of Brain Bag, but all their gear has a very good reputation for durability and long life. They have an optional “Cache” sleeve now, which is probably what you’d want. I imagine the 16" will fit the Framework 16, but I’ve not verified it.

I just got a Goruck GR2 34L and the Framework 16" with the GPU unit on fits to the laptop compartment.

I would be very interested in verifying what FW16 configs, if any, fit in the Brain Bag.

Unfortunately, the only big cache is MBP 16”, which will certainly not fit the FW16.

But the Brain Bag seems like a killer daily carry pack for a big laptop and a mess of other gear. And you could sew the same kind of straps that are on the cache onto a cushcase or other sleeve to attach it to the inside of the bag…

I know it’s been a while, but how come you cancelled your preorder?

Chiming in to share a decent bag I found at my local microcenter. It’s a Targus CitySmart EVA Pro. The sleeve holds the framework 16 without any slop and the rest of the bag is large enough for my weird hobbies.

The older bag had a rugged laptop enclosure with a velcro box top. It is a shame they don’t have this anymore, it really is ideal, and a FW 16 fits just fine. The largest cache is the 17B (Razer Blade Pro), maybe that would work?

This carry works really well for my FW Laptop 16” and reasonably priced as well:

Just wondering did you fit it with or without the dGPU module?

With and plenty of room to spare.

After a few months of using this bag, how do you still like it and think it holds up? I am still trying to find a nice slim and comfortable bag to tote my FL16 around and amongst what folks have shared, this seems to be the most sleek.

I’m happy with the purchase and recommend it for anyone looking for a backpack style carry.

Great bag… I’ve been using it for work!

Without, how much space does the dGPU add?

21mm or 0.83”

I tried sliding a 1.4cm drumstick down the side of the laptop and it was a very tight fit.

Based on that, I’m going to say the graphics module would add too much depth.

The Fjallraven Kaken Laptop 17 works for the FW16 with dGPU. I’ve been using it the laptop fits pretty good. The main issue would be the lack of false bottom or significant padding for the laptop when touching the bottom. Plus it is kinda pricey.

I bought this one 5 months ago: Amazon.com: Voova Laptop Bag 15.6 Inch, Waterproof Computer Sleeve Carrying Case with Shoulder Straps & Handle Compatible with Macbook Air 15 M2/M3/M4, MacBook Pro 15/16, 15-16 Inch Hp Dell Lenovo Asus, Black : Electronics

In my opinion, it’s about as perfect as I’m ever going to find, by my standards. It’s quite snug, but does fit with the 7700S module and everything I want to have everywhere I bring the laptop. It works great as either a standalone bag (I especially appreciate the D-ring locations) or inside another bag, as it’s slim and light but also sufficiently padded. The handles are handy, but can also be shoved into those pockets (as can the strap) if they’re in the way. In fact, I’ve got a whole bunch of Liquid IV packets shoved in those pockets right now. Things like passports and boarding passes are nice to shove in there during travel without interacting with the computer accessories or zippers.

Since it’s snug, it is a little bit easier to work with if you put the computer away before the mouse and power supply. I’d post pictures, but upload doesn’t seem to be working right. My typical pocket contents are a neoprene mousepad, Delta 240w charger, MX518 mouse, Anker 11-in-1 adapter, Sandisk 1TB portable SSD, 3 USB drives and the Framework tool. I could shove more in if I needed to. I clip my IEM case to the D ring so I don’t and can access them easier.
