The fans on my core ultra 3 mainboard is starting to make a low-pitched humming noise under load.

When I received the mainboard (batch 1) months ago I noticed faint clicking noise when fan is spinning at low speeds, but I let it be hoping it would go away. Now with this latest development it seems the fan bearing is starting to fail.

When will the replacement heatsink+fan part be available in marketplace? Currently it’s not even listed; I’ll be outside supported regions for months so I can’t rely on support, have to ask a friend to buy it and bring it to me 🙁

Update: the heatsink part number is FRANMPHY which page is not up yet. Support says they can’t ship outside of supported countries.

Parts would become available to purchase separately sometime after all preorders are fulfilled. When would that be? I haven’t been paying attention to the preorder batches, your guess might be better than mine. But until that time, support would be the only way to jump the line & get individual parts.

But I’m not sure if that really a problem. Sounds like you’re away from home, working outside of supported regions for awhile. That’s ok, it doesn’t change your home country. You can still get support in your home country, inside Framework’s supported regions. For receiving parts, family or a friend can bring it to you, as you said.

Sounds all good. 🙂

When you raise a support ticket with FW, and they conclude that a replacement part is needed. They then ask where to send the part.
You can then tell them where to send it.
