Resolved touchpad sensitivity issue on new input cover kit

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Replace input cover using Input Cover Kit.
  2. Observed touchpad is not as responsive as original.

Observations:

  • Need to move finger about .5cm or press harder on touchpad before touchpad would recognize input.

Attempted resolutions

  • Set touchpad speed to maximum in Settings > Mouse & Touchpad.
  • Toggled touchpad off/on in Settings > Mouse & Touchpad.
  • Toggled Disable while typing off/on in Settings > Mouse & Touchpad.
  • Installed gnome-tweaks and toggled Disable While Typing off/on in Tweaks > Keyboard & Mouse > Touchpad.

Successful resolution

  • Modified pointer feedback in cli.
    xinput set-ptr-feedback "PIXA3854:00 093A:0274 Touchpad" 0.5 2 1
  • Touchpad is much more responsive and does not require as much force/finger movement before registering input.
