[RESPONDED] FW13 AMD Fedora 39: System clock advances 50+ years during overnight suspend

Mutter / Gnome wayland is working fine. So this is a kwin_wayland issue I think

This is my suspicion as well.

I just reproduced this (failure to read RTC/resuming in 2078) under Fedora’s 6.6.14-200.fc39.x86_64 kernel, after many weeks of not seeing this with the laptop suspending/resuming many times daily.

This was only the third time, give or take, that I saw this issue, since November when I got the laptop, so doesn’t reproduce very often.

Is this series incorporated upstream yet? I suppose I could try running on a patched kernel but given the low frequency of the problem it would be a long while before we could call lack of recurrence a “fix”. Open to this and any other suggestions.

6.8-rc2 has them and they’re going to trickle back to stable kernels.
