Right arrow key working sporadically

The right arrow key on my Framework 13 keyboard has suddenly started working sporadically. Sometimes it works just fine, sometimes it stops working unless I push down really hard. I haven’t spilled anything on the keyboard. I took the keycap off and there doesn’t appear to be anything underneath it blocking the key. As far as I can tell it’s not possible to get the little rubber nipple off to find out if there’s something underneath it causing the switch to fail to work sometimes. Is there anything I can do, or is my only recourse to replace the keyboard?

Check the top cover connector on the mainboard as well as the connector itself for any bent pins or dust. Usually, sporadically working keys are caused by them.

I’m confused. Why would the top cover connector having problems cause keys to work sporadically? Did you mean the input cover connector?

In any case, I took off the input cover and blew out and reseated both the input cover connector and the keyboard membrane connector, and at least for the time being the right arrow key is working again. We’ll see if it lasts!

Yes I meant the input cover connector but it can also be the top cover connector as it plugs into the trackpad and connects to the mainboard through the input cover connector. In any case, it’s good that it’s working for now.
