so you have 1 free port for devices, this is not the same as before.

In some pictures, there seems to be a USB-C port in the back, if that is the case you can use it for power giving you access to 2 free slots

If your laptop doesn’t look like it has a full head of hair that you have to rip out once daily then what’s the point

I’m pretty sure that the intention is not for charging but to connect a display for an output.
Why would you want to route rendered image back to CPU and motherboard just to send it to USB controller and only then convert it to DP signal?

Also it’s just a design so they could have a barrel connector for more power.
