I recently upgraded from an old 2TB drive to a new SN850X 4TB drive. I decided to go with a clean install but now, Windows does not detect the trackpad driver even after running the Driver Installer.
I can see the device in Device Manager, but it is having issues (a yellow warning sign). When clicking properties, Windows reports Error Code 10.
I have tried disabling and reenabling the device multiple times as suggested from this support page.
I have also cleaned the contact pads and reseated the touchpad module to no avail.
I did try searching automatically for drivers as well as searching in Windows Update.
Interestingly enough, the touchpad module also does not work when booting from a Linux Live USB, although that might be because the kernel version is somewhat old.
Given that you physically replaced the drive and hence separated connectors to the 'keyboard -touch pad etc. ~ could that be an issue especially as you have tried a WIN and Linux OS ??
I do not know what exactly happened to the input module connector cable, but when I started it up today, it was showing that the connector wasn’t connected. When I went to re-plug it in, I clearly felt force from the connector being connected, but it was reporting as disconnected.
I plugged it in again, and when to device manager to disable and reenable the device and now it works.
