Speaker Redirectors for FW13

I noticed that sound from my FW13 can get absorbed by blankets or my pants when I’m using it as an actual laptop. So I made these little sound redirectors. They have two holes for magnets, but they are not necessarily needed. I also got a print to work with press fit alone, but I recommend the magnets for the satisfying snap.

I actually don’t know how well they work, I go mostly by feel and the difference isn’t big, although it definitely is there. The audio isn’t necessarily better, but it is louder.

I would think that the highest frequencies get absorbed by the plastic, and mids and basses are redirected?

It felt like speech is being redirected somewhat, but not always. Music gets notably louder and clearer, so I guess at least mids are being redirected. Maybe even highs.

That said, I have no idea how to judge or measure that. I can send a pair to someone in Germany if you want to try them and don’t have a 3d printer.
