Status report: FW13, AMD 7840; Debian trixie; Hibernation; 128 GB RAM, etc

Just a note that there are lots of guides for Linux but I didn’t need to follow any of them. It all “just works” (so far; 1 day of use).

I have a AMD Ryzen 7840U with 8 TB HD and 128 GB RAM.

I installed Debian Trixie pre-release with full disk encryption. Debian installer made a swap partition of 136 GB in size. I upgraded the bios per Framework instructions. When I tested hibernation it “just worked”, as does access to the full 128 GB of RAM as far a sI can tell.

Kernel is 6.12.27.
Bios is 3.0.9

Haven’t tested power consumption. Fan is sometimes loud. But so far the Linux hardware support seems quite good.

I can also confirm that running in an AMD AI chipset, debian trixie worked out of the box, the only thing I had to install was the fingerprint reader libraries

What are the details on your 128 GB RAM? Brand and model number?

Thanks.

Currently unavailable, but I am in no hurry. I have 63 GB and that is enough for now. I will keep tracking though.
