SteamVR + Fedora + HTC Vive not working

Has anyone here gotten VR to work on their Framework 16 with SteamVR and Linux? I’m having real issues getting it to work and I’m not sure why. In addition to the errors screenshotted below, I’m also getting device freezes, fans locked at 100% for some reason, and the laptop won’t boot sometimes if the headset (HTC Vive) is plugged in.

System setup:

FW 16 Ryzen 7 7840HS w/ RX 7700s

Fedora 42

Radv drivers

KDE Plasma (wayland)

Steam native client (not flatpak or etc.)

I’ve looked around on general linux + vr support sources, such as https://lvra.gitlab.io/docs/hardware/ but given the odd boot and fan behavior it’s possible this is a more framework specific issue.

Anyone have some ideas or experience?

I tested my windows partition, and it looks like that worked fine. I guess it is something specific to linux.

Well, it would appear that after testing on Windows, changing nothing on Linux and testing Linux again, it just worked. I doubt it was the reboot that did it, I’ve rebooted a ton testing this.

Welp, to anyone looking to this thread for help… try Einstein’s insanity.
