I own a framework 13 pro, and I noticed there was an Storage expansion card listed in the framework marketplace but it’s always “coming soon” is this just a case of supply chain issues or is it no longer being sold?
If i had to guess it’s the latter as a lot of the items “for sale” on the marketplace are never actually for sale, so I don’t understand why it would be listed if that was the case. I was hoping to buy one but it seems unlikely at this rate.
their nand storage was too expensive to be used in the storage expansion card slots so for the moment the production has been paused. i think they posted about it in their volatile silicon blog.

The expansion card with storage has been around for a while now. Supply chain is the main reason like what was mentioned by @Metunis .
A close alternative (not as sleek though) is the MicroSD expansion card. The MicroSD barely sticks out but you can swap out any card quickly.
It is not nearly as fast but the convenience of just pulling the card and dropping another one is nice to have. I have a standalone 11th Gen with this setup and it backs itself up regularly to the MicroSD so if the SSD fails a hot backup is ready to restore to a replacement SSD.
Sometimes people will post parts for sale on the marketplace too once in a while. Might be another place to check once in a while.
