Suggestion for lid switch on future framework laptops

I’ve made the fun discovery that if my airpods are in my left pocket (where they always are) and my new laptop is on my lap, shifting can graze the hall effect sensor with my airpods magnet and sleep my laptop

I’d like to suggest for future models that they put two or three (hall effect?) lid sensors on this machine so a single aggregate “all sensors see the lid closed” can be used and random magnetic objects near the laptop don’t constantly sleep it.

(otherwise this thing is great)

Nice suggestion.
I think the FW12 uses an angle sensor instead of magnets.

Probably better to just go with an angle sensor instead, much harder to confuse. Alternatively at least going with a polarity sensitive one would probably already exclude most random magnet activation without having to move where the sensor is.

I personally don’t really use the lid sensor as I am a “deliberately change operating states of my machines” kind of guy but I can see the lid sensor catches a lot of people with unexpected activation.
