TeamGroup MP33 won't warm boot on Framework 16, seemingly making Linux be unable to install

Hello everybody,

I recently purchased a Framework 16 with Ryzen AI 7 350 DIY edition. I bought my own DDR5 5600 SODIMM and am reusing a TeamGroup MP33 512GB. I have found that the drive is only detected from a cold boot, never from a warm boot (such as when I restart/reboot the laptop).

I was able to install Windows 11 by shutting down the laptop every time it would restart. I partitioned 130GB for Windows 11 and the rest I am going to be using for my Linux install. I first attempted to install Nyarch Linux, but every time it tries to install to the partition I made for it, or even when I tried installing it on the entire drive instead, it would not install. Whenever I checked for the drive after this in Nyarch, it would show that no drive is installed. I then attempted Bazzite installation, and the same issue occured.

I have since updated the BIOS to the latest version (I believe 4.01) and the same issues are occurring. I’ve looked at other threads and for similar warm boot issues, they updated the firmware on their drive. However, I cannot find a firmware update for my drive. Does anyone know of a solution so that I can at least install Nyarch/Bazzite onto my second partition, ideally also fixing the warm boot issue?

Have you tried contacting TeamGroup support to send you the firmware updater for your drive?

They probably had it on their website but pulled it down.

I haven’t yet. I’ll try that.

As of this time, they are telling me they don’t have any firmware for my drive as it was designed to work without a firmware update. As such, unless they provide a solution, if anyone knows of another way to solve this problem, I’d be grateful.

I’ve yet to be able to find a solution to my problem, but here are some log files from the failure to install Nyarch. I do not understand them. I am providing the link as the contents don’t fit in this text box.

Also, I have now tried using Ventoy instead of Rufus and I still could not install Linux.

I’ve tried moving the SSD to be used in my Framework to my desktop to install Linux onto the drive using my desktop, but the same issue occurred. When reinstalling the SSD into my laptop, nothing changed.

I have found that disabling quick boot does not resolve any issues.
