The League of Batch 6

Wow, that’s a quick turnaround! I hope mine gets here as fast as yours did…

@walllable
I know, I was really surprised. They’re faster than Amazon has been lately.

I wish they were a bit faster. We got charged last week, but still no shipping information. Accounting is up my butt thinking we need to cancel because they aren’t sending shipping information. They are escalating, but the boss is going to make me have to get a Dell if I don’t hear something soon.

CHECK YOUR SPAM EVERYONE! My shipping notice was in there!

Until this very week, the lead time being quoted was at least a month. It’s only just dropped to “days” instead of “weeks”, and I imagine some specific configurations are easier for them to fulfill than others based on supply chain.

In short…I’m not sure what you expected…

What I expected is not really material. It is what my boss expected which is relevant. I convinced him to let me but this new laptop from this new company. I knew it would take a while, but I told him that when they charged they would ship.

He was skeptical, but the way he sees it, They have had his money for a week tomorrow and there is no word at all on when it would ship. I personally would have more patience. But then my boss is not who he is for nothing.

It took me weeks to get him to let me try Frame Works as a trial because they are new. Now he has his finger on the cancel button. Really I just need the shipment email and I can move on.

Can someone who had theirs shipped already tell me where they are shipping from?

EDIT: Mine shipped just hours after this post as I hoped! I ordered DIY 1165G7 without RAM or SSD by the way

Mine shipped from Bellmawr, NJ.

@Kevin_Park My label was created 12/03 in New Jersey, and
according to FedEx the package was picked up on 12/07 in Pennsylvania. I’m in Northern California and my estimated delivery date is 12/14

Thank goodness. They came through with the shipping. Glad that is over.

Hopefully I will have a fleet of these eventually

From a simple scan over this thread, it seems like most people who have already received their laptops ordered the 1135G7 model, so the people who ordered the 1165G7 (and maybe the 1185G7) are still having to wait. It’s harder to figure out if this is accurate because people keep referring to it as the “i5” and “i7” models as if there aren’t two separate models that can be described as the i7 model.

For me, I still haven’t received a shipping notification (yes, I checked my spam filter). The thing that gets me is that it’s now 6 days (4 business days) since I was charged and got the email saying, “your order will ship within the next few business days.” I’m trying to be patient, but it does seem like they’re running late on this.

EDIT: I just received the shipping confirmation email. The tracking number isn’t yet recognized by FedEx, but I’m still excited to see it.

Exactly 6 days after being charged, mine finally shipped. Yay! :tada:
(To make up for the delay, the shipping confirmation email showed up in my regular inbox and wasn’t classified as spam on my end. I guess I have never checked my spam folder as frequently as during these last few days!)

@LRFLEW I’m jealous. I got the i7-1165G7, and ordered on 11/26 too, but still nothing here.

BTW, it’s an i5, and shipped from SWEDESBORO NJ

Ordered an i5 DIY on 11/30 and it’s out for delivery today. I received a Preparing to ship email on 12/3 and the charge/ship email this past Monday evening.

Update – just arrived!

Just got my batch 5 (Nov 5th) order yesterday, pretty happy with my new laptop (replacing a Dell from 2010). The FedEx truck disappeared in PA on Nov 30th and finally resurfaced in Oregon on the 7th, two days later than the expected delivery date. Glad it wasn’t lost, and I didn’t waste any time installing everything (DIY edition) and getting Linux Mint installed. Really impressed with Linux and Framework that everything “just worked”, with the exception of the wifi card. Fortunately I had an old USB wifi stick to get the kernel updated, and now everything including the wifi card is working!

Here’s hoping those FedEx employees can keep up the next few weeks!

I’ll admit, I’d like some official guidance on whether the i7s (either buildout) are slower to ship than the i5s. It’s totally legit if it’s true, I just kinda want to know what to expect!

I have no idea whether there’s actually a pattern there, here’s my timeline:

Nov 27 - ordered DIY i7-1185G7
Nov 30 - preparing to ship
Dec 02 - charged & shipping soon
Dec 08 - shipped
(Dec 13) - expected delivery in FL according to FedEx
(all dates local US time)

That seems to be fitting the general pattern. People who ordered in November seem to have an overall longer wait because of inventory, but their current inventory is also supporting quicker turnarounds for more recent orders.

@Oliver , was yours DIY or regular?
