The League of Batch 6

DIY, I’ll correct it in the post above.

@Oliver I originally ordered an i7 on 15th NOV, but only received “preparing to ship your batch” email on 29th NOV. So I cancelled it, and ordered an i5 on 30th NOV instead.

My batch 6 DIY edition just arrived setup took only a few minutes. I’m really excited to finally have my laptop!

Yup received mine earlier today, was able to get everything setup (the wifi card wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be) without issues. One thing I failed to realize is the charger for my current laptop (Samsung Chromebook Pro) isn’t powerful enough to charge the Framework - luckily my work laptop also uses USB-C charging.

I have Fedora 35 rolling as well everything worked out of the box and I don’t mind the scaling either. I’ve toyed around a little bit with Linux in the past (attempted the options available on the Chromebook) but am excited to finally try it on some newer hardware.

So far so good!

Ordered mine (1165G7) on Nov 17, still waiting for my shipping email :pensive:

I’m sorry to hear that, that seems really odd. Has your card already been charged?

it was charged on Dec 2 like most others seems to be here on this thread. Not a HUGE deal for me if its a bit late, but yeah would have liked to get some sort of ACK about shipping delays.

Mine arrived yesterday - 12/8 - with the 2-day FedEx shipping.

I ordered it - DIY edition with i7-1165G7 - on November 30th.

After testing with Windows last night, I just finished installing Ubuntu 21.10, and everything’s looking good so far…

Now to upgrade to 5.15.7 kernel [which hopefully fixes the stickey/stuttery touchpad cursor :crossed_fingers:] and then install the driver for the fingerprint sensor… and then should be all set…

Do not expect the finger print reader to work in multiple OS, esp when windows is in the mix. I have been fighting with this issue for weeks, unless your comfortable compiling your own stuff.

Just got shipping confirmation! :open_mouth:

Hahaha me as well!

I just ordered mine as well!! Says it’s in stock and will ship within the week. I’ve been wanting to purchase this since the summer when it was making the rounds across Youtube channels like LTT and others.

I don’t even need a laptop, but I really believe in what they’re trying to do and I hope it succeeds. For once, I’m in a position to back something like this in some way. I’m excited!

FedEx shows my laptop as being in their system now. It estimates a Sunday delivery, though the phone I got a month ago that was delivered by FedEx ended up overshooting the estimate by two days, so there’s still room for it to be delayed or even arrive early.

Side note: The “Shipment Facts” tab says that it’s shipped as “FedEx Ground”, so I guess that means that I didn’t get the free two-day shipping.

Yeah, mine is International Economy. So I’m thinking the free priority shipping is only for people who ordered after they announced that. They said it was to make sure people can get it in time for Christmas, and barring a Fedex snafu, we should be fine.

Got my shipping number too!

Yep, this is pretty much what my schedule looks like. Really looking forward to Monday!

Ok… so, I’m still haven’t heard from Framework since the initial order on Dec, 3. Went for the DIY i5 1135G7.

From which coast have your laptop been shipped?

East coast, they’re shipping everything from a fulfillment center in New Jersey.

Oh, thank you for letting me know (updated the shipping address accordingly)!
