The bottom right corner of my touchpad stiffens when its not been pressed in a while and once it is pressed down completely it makes a cracking noise which doesn’t happen again until its not pressed in a while.
I’ve already took the input module off but the issue occurs even when its not attached.
Is there a way to fix this? This isn’t a deal breaker for me but its a bit annoying and makes me worry for the long-term health of the touchpad.
diassembled the touchpad and found that this piece of metal under the touchpad was incorrectly aligned
Small addendum:
while the above fixed the extra clicking/cracking it was only part of the problem, the area circled in red had some sort of residue that stuck to the touchpad that was not on the other side.
Cleaning it with isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab solved that issue and resolved this completely.
