I’ve always turned tap off on my touchpads because I write a lot and palm detection is absolutely useless. With this kind of touchpad, where you depress the entire pad to click instead of having buttons well away from where your hand could ever rest and the pad is unnecessarily large, it’s still almost as easy to accidentally click while typing as if tap was on.
Additionally I can’t seem to get consistent click results, even if I click in the exact same place.
The giant buttonless touchpad is absolute trash that no one asked for. It creates endless problems without solving any in the trade-off. If framework had a two, or better yet a three button touch pad, it would be a very solid selling point for a lot of people. I would certainly buy one in a heartbeat.
But the buttons need to be on the bottom of the pad. Why would anyone want it at the top?
