Bonjour !
I’m currently working on a Lenovo thinkpad 13 that is about to turn 7. It’s fine but just a bit too weak for professional programming and data processing, so I’m eyeing a FW laptop.
I love the keyboard on my thinkpad though, so I’d like to try out the keyboard before buying one.
Is there anyone in Paris who’d let me type on their keyboard for a couple of minutes in exchange for a beverage of their choice?
All I want is to compare the mechanical touch with what I’m used to.
(I contacted customer support and they suggested I ask here)
Merci!
Paris, Ontario, Canada??
But seriously I hope you get a response to your question. I would take you up on it except it would have to be the Paris I listed above. A Gulden Draak or a Delirium Tremens would do nicely…
Oh, I didn’t even know there was another Paris there! I threw in the little flag to avoid confusion with Paris, Texas. You need to make a movie called “Paris, Ontario”
Thanks for your reply though, and great choice of beers! I won’t fly across the ocean for this though
Yay, French buddy, Bonjour de l’Alsace, sadly I’m not in Paris but I could give some hints about the keyboard.
Like most laptops, it’s membrane or also called scissors mecanism, they should not be any difference between your thinkpad 13 (nice, so durable), so you could go les yeux fermés (eyes closed for our english-speaking buddy’s).
Hope I helped and I will be happy to know what do you of le framework (hon hon) after you got it.
@laurent I have tested the Thinkpad 13 in the past and the keyboard on the Framework is at least in the same range. I moves from a Thinkpad T480s to the Framework and noticed little to no difference, which is saying a lot. I had been using Thinkpads for 10yrs at the time of migration. Very comfrtable with good key travel for a modern laptop.
Thank you all for your feedback, it’s very helpful! I’m going to hope a bit longer for a Parisian to come across this post
