Hello everyone. I have a framework 13 and purchased a framework 12 for a teenager to support frameworks mission as soon as pre orders were available.
I purchased the i3 model with 24gb crucial ram and 512 Samsung ssd. SSD and ram were purchased elsewhere.
The laptop was received 7/2025 and was working well until it stopped charging on 11/25. The motherboard was replaced under warranty. The motherboard worked fine until 02/2026 and again it would not charge. Framework is sending a replacement. Have you had dead motherboard/mainboard issues?
The charger used is the oem framework 60w charger. The motherboards went from no issues to battery draining quickly to completely dead to no response from motherboard. I followed framework support recommendations switching ram, ssd, removing expansions cards, reset, plugging directly to the motherboard, different expansion card but nothing. When charging there was no light indicator but I did feel the usb c expansion as being warm. The expansion cards were purchased refurbished from framework.
