Hi. So I’ve destroyed two USB-C sockets already (lol). Though not strictly through normal use – I tried putting one on another computer (desolder + solder), which worked well. But I ended up trying something else, and wrecked it.
What is the part number for that socket?
The plug that go into the main board is Molex, but none of the molex plugs look remotely close to what framework have.
It has the big raised portion. and the unique horizontal “2 x 3 + 2 x 2” spot-welding mark on the upper shell.
Is full 24-pin, and is full SMT (and not partial thru hole + partial SMT). Midmount.
And believe me when I say “I have seen them all”. Even on the chinese market. Been scrolling for like 15 minutes. Nothing close.
I know it fit the target (Thinkpad T14S), so I will just buy like 10 of each of 7 different varieties that claim its for some Thinkpad, just to make sure.
And maybe make our lives a bit easier.
