Does anyone have experiences with VR headsets for this laptop? All I could find was relatively old threads and tech moves fast. It has soldered RAM (96GiB) and can flexibly dedicate part of it to the AMD Radeon 890M video card.
But then there is the question of DisplayPort availability (with DSC) etc. which makes me worry about full compatibility of some current and future devices.
Your question inspired me to build the VR setup on a ai 9 hx370 laptop. I was able to get my Bigscreen headset to work just now. Used the default displayport expansion card. Obviously you can’t expect groundbreaking performance though it does work.
I’ll dig up my old ReverbG2 later this weekend and see if I can get that to work as well.
Not sure why you are suggesting that RAM is soldered to the motherboard. Mine’s not. Did they make a version that is?
You’re right, it is not soldered! I mixed it with the Framework Desktop.

Also, the G2 works as well. I’d guess that you would have good luck with other already-available HMDs.
