# Way to buy/get individual keyboard keys?

Is it possible to get individual keyboard keys to replace the old ones?  
E.g. because of wrong legend or because the legend has rubbed off due to age/use?

Or does that mean getting a brand new keyboard?

Unfortunately, the keycaps are not _officially_ removable. This is just normal for laptop keyboards. Since they are made so thin, the clips that attach them are tiny and you risk breaking them. Of course, as with other laptops, you can do it if you have the right technique and some luck. A few have posted of success with removing keys, but others have just broken their keys in the attempt. So I don’t think Framework would be likely to sell individual keys.

as you can see, the keys are made connected, not individuals
